Overview
My name is Cathy Alfano and I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor. I decided to become a Certified Holistic Cancer Coach to help other people through their battle with cancer as they experience the emotional and physical side effects. At the time, I was also one of my sister’s caregivers and extremely focused on learning about the importance of nutrition and other holistic modalities that would help her through her battle with breast cancer.
My sister, Rosie, battled breast cancer for 7 years. Sadly, she passed away April 26, 2021 at the age of 50. My sister and I both shared our journey with the world through our Instagram page. Since doing so , we had many people reach out to us for advice and support. I wanted to carry-on and share my life after breast cancer and as well as the grieving process of a loved one. I would like to continue to support other cancer patients who are currently going through treatment, surgeries, counselling and those who are dealing with the mental and physical effects of living life after cancer treatment.
I’m also a Certified Reiki Level 1 & 2 Practitioner. I’ve learned that energy healing has many benefits for cancer patients. It reduces the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy and can be combined with other healing modalities, both traditional and alternative medicine. I have been learning to heal myself using Reiki and I feel a great sense of peace and calmness in my mind and body. In the past, I have studied other holistic modalities as Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage and Indian Face Massage; which I believe are beneficial for the mind, body and soul.
I feel a deep connection with those who are going through cancer and those who have been through cancer. The path I’m on is something I would like to continue to share with the world in hopes of building a great support group while honouring my sister’s legacy. I encourage others who are on the same path or in need of guidance to connect with me with any questions or concerns they would like to share.
