The project is designed to help create an early appreciation for the powerful role of diet in cancer protection and obesity control
This project, targeting students and young families in the Philadelphia area and beyond, is offered in collaboration with local schools, colleges, churches, and community organizations representing diverse ethnic and social groups. Our overall objective is to create awareness of the powerful role of diet in helping to reduce cancer and obesity risk in young adults and families. We believe that young people and families can be motivated to make dietary shifts that are healthful, simple and appealing. We do this by delivering nutrition and prevention slide talks, providing free cancer prevention educational materials, distributing healthful recipes, and encouraging students to share this information with their peers, families, and communities. We emphasize practical guidelines for implementing and maintaining healthy habits, and our workshops sometimes include cooking demonstrations and tastings.Contact us to learn how your school or organization can benefit from this program.
